Nikita Duncan

As long as I can remember I have been creating art. For the last few years I have been experimenting with various ideas and styles in an attempt to produce visually and psychologically interesting paintings. Most of my work represents the energy, feelings, and non-visual aspects of people and experiences, however I also enjoy capturing landscapes and figures.

I believe people connect with others by sharing their lives, stories, and perspectives. Through conversation I have come to realize that there are as many truths as there are people and all of us experience the same things in completely different ways. I find these differences moving and fascinating and enjoy gaining a greater understanding of every person I come in contact with. The Orgasm series, which was produced between 2007 and 2010, is my attempt to take an experience we all share and make other people's personal truths more accessible by representing them via visual metaphor.
